It’s sad that an artist has to die in order for people to appreciate their music.
Amy Winehouse has made it to the top 10 on the Billboard top 200. Keith Caulfield associate director for Billboard said that Winehouse’s music is almost at the top of the iTunes charts.
“A lot of it has to do with people just discovering who an artist is,” Caulfield says. “It’s an ironic twist that many people don’t learn of an artist until that artist passes away.
“Or there may be a lot of people who have known about her, and knew the songs she had, but didn’t necessary make the connection. And when someone passes away, people make the connection for you.”
Those who are buying her music now are doing out of appreciation or in her memory.
Amy sent this picture and says she’s mad as hell that NOW everyone wants to buy her music.
