Its a sad day for the Verizon guy his service has been cut off!You wont be able to hear him now. Actor Paul Marcarelli is known for always saying “Can you hear me now?” will no longer be part of Verizon commercials. He says he had fun the 9 years it lasted and he thinks his time had come to an end. He says the roll had started to take a toll in his life.Verizon has decided that they want to take a new route with their commericals and it does not include Marcarelli.
He says, “Don’t feel bad for me, but I’m definitely glad that chapter is over,” he said. “Most people my age are now trying to trade in their street cred for money, and I kind of made my money.” He also says the roll came with a price. While attending his grandmother’s funeral a family friend whispered “Can you hear me now?” as her body was being lowered (smh people dont think sometimes!)
Marcarelli who is gay also says that kids would run past his house at night saying “Can you hear me now?” and yelling gay slurs. He says he never filed a report because he never wanted the media to get a hold of it so he stayed quiet.
He plans on acting in movies and has already written and co-produced “The Green,” about a gay couple who are ostracized living in a small town.
