Chief Vincent Caruso of New Jersey says he doesn’t care who breaks the law they are getting a ticket.
Caruso ordered an officer to give his wife a ticket after she double parked while dropping off their 5-year-old son at school. “She’s not above the law,” he said on Thursday. “I didn’t want her to get any special treatment because of who she is.”
The officer who gave her a ticket was trying to clear traffic and decided to just give everyone a warning. When he got to the last car a realized it was the chief’s wife he decided to be ethical and let her go. Once he relayed the message to the chief he told the officer to give her a ticket! (how mean!)
The chief has already paid the 54 dollar fine.
His wife isn’t a first time offender. 2 years ago he ordered an officer to give her a ticket for not moving her car during the street cleaning.
